The
brainchild of Derek
Turner, Tumbleweed
Recording Studio was
set up in 1996 to
cater to the demand
from musicians in
Dundalk for a professional
recording studio locally.
While the aim of the
studio from the outset
was to provide an
affordable recording
facility for local
bands and solo artists,
Tumbleweed has also
gone on to work with
international artists
and producers such
as Brianna Corrigan
(The Beautiful South)
and Nick Cave and
the Bad Seeds producer
Matt Crosbie...
In 1998 Tumbleweed
Studios recruited
Jason Varley as a
second engineer to
help carry the workload.
Shortly after Derek
branched out into
promotion and management
and Jason took over
as the main engineer.
In the years that
followed the studio
went on to work with
such artists as Roesy,
Stewart Agnew, Mary
Coughlan, Clive Barnes
and Jinx Lennon.
In the summer of 2003
Tumbleweed set up
a network of introductory
sound training course
with engineer Oran
Burns at the helm.
A local of Dundalk,
Oran is a graduate
of the STC Dublin
and holds 2 City and
Guilds in sound engineering.
At Tumbleweed studios,
we at all times strive
to produce the highest
quality of work possible.
We realise that it's
your album, your career,
your life, not just
our wages.
